Message update for those newly joined to the ARIWG mailing list
Hi everyone This is a message to all those members who have only recently been included on the ARIWG email list.I apologise for a misunderstanding between the staff and myself on who should be on the ARIWG mailing list - the members/participants who were originally nominated, vs the Issues Teams that I developed to get the work underway whom I had asked to also be incorporated into the list. However, better late than never. These are the two emails that were sent after our last ARIWG meeting on the 27 Sept. Our next meeting is on Oct 10 to which you are all welcome and at which we will look at some of the issues that have draft steps established. *Message One - sent Sept 28* Dear ARIWG Issue Teams I hope you have seen the Prioritisation & Dependencies page <https://community.icann.org/display/ALRW/ARIWG+Prioritization+and+Dependencies+Workspace> recently. It is beginning to become populated with comments on various items - are they the easiest ones first? :) If you want to add a comment to any item - add it to the "ARIWG Comments" box. If you are listed as one of the Issues Team Leaders (that is, above the "Participant" label in the ARIWG Plan Development Workspace <https://community.icann.org/pages/editpage.action?pageId=95094297>then you will/should have editing rights. #1 is still displayed as a draft model but Jonathan and his team may want to enter new text soon following on from their team's discussions. Remember that we need to at least get a draft to work on *before we get to Barcelona*. That is only 3 weeks away. Work on the implementation plan will be included into the Friday development programme. This will be especially important if people identify that they may need additional funding for another staff member or equipment or a survey to be undertaken or some other resource. But, we really have to be able to justify these requests The sooner we get the final fully completed document to the Board for their OK, the sooner we will be able to start implementing our plans "towards a more innovative and revitalised At-Large" (plagiarised from a Review recommendation, but appropriate nevertheless) Our next meeting is on *Tuesday, 09 October 2018 at 19:00 UTC.* Be great to see you there. We can discuss some of the drafts that are up already. *Message Two - sent Sept 30* Thanks to those of you who have started populating the P&D templates on the P&D workspace <https://community.icann.org/pages/editpage.action?pageId=95094289>, if not with implementation steps then with some helpful comments for those who will develop the steps. (Leaders can click onto Edit at the top of the page to be able you to see all the templates, and add comments accordingly to the ARIWG comments section) [mh comment - this should have been changed by now to it opening automatically to all the templates, because we were having issues with two sets of non-syncing templates] ALAC and non-ALAC members with a particular association to specific issues have been volunteered (or perhaps voluntold) for these tasks, and as noone has indicated otherwise (apart from Holly), I assume that assignees are OK with working with their teams. It is really important for the ALAC to work together on this task as we can be pretty much assured that most of ICANN will be watching to see what good we can make of what may have seemed to be quite a negatively focused Review. We have an opportunity to enhance what we already do, and the implementation process offers us access to resources to do this, *if we are well planned*. Comments have been coming in from observers and participants, and it is perhaps timely that Issues Team Leaders call in their troops and start putting some notes up onto their templates so that contributors can see that their comments are being considered and incorporated into the plan, and so that we look more likely to achieve our goal of having all templates ready for discussion when we are together in Barcelona. Many thanks in advance Maureen
