TBH there’s no real “one size fits all” tool out there J
We use email, Slack, Teamwork (https://www.teamwork.com/) , ZenDesk and a bunch of other tools for various things.
It depends on what people are comfortable with and what you are trying to achieve.

One of the upsides to Slack is that it integrates very neatly with a load of 3rd party services.
Downside – you can’t “browse” archives, though if you are on a paid plan you can search them.
