Dear Jacqueline:

I,m not completelly agree with you in this matter. Because, who is the person, wich the court or tribunal (in what ROP part I can find) who decide if the tone or behaviour of the words uses, is improper, or have the divine "don" to decide this. Who stablish the parameters? Who is God?
On the other side, I think, we are professionals, more than that our condition of voluntiers. So we can't be a sensitive persons, we need the posibility to discuss matters with all pasion that we feel and defend it in the the better way that we believe. We represent millons people, and we accepted our role in this committee, for that reason I think the rational passion is absolutelly permitted when we discuss some important issues.

Subject: [At-Large] List Posting tone and behaviour

Dear All

The tone and content of some messages recently have stretched the limits of acceptable behavior on this list. May I remind you all of Rule 22.8 and 22.9 as follows, which explicitly prohibit:

22.9     Unprofessional commentary, regardless of the general subject,

22.10   Postings libellous being used to abuse, harass, stalk, or threaten others,

We appreciate that some may feel strongly and get passionate about the topics, but we do not want to have to sanction anyone for their posts.

So please, tone it down ASAP. Many of our colleagues are very offended by this  behavior.

Sincerely

Jacqueline A. Morris
