I'm forwarding to the public list from the ALAC internal one this nomination I made today, so that everyone is aware of it. The deadline is the 14th for other nominations, and we are told by Jacqueline Morris, the ALAC chair, that there have been few to no nominations from the ALS community.  So we need to hear from you before Monday!

I thought the deadline was the 14th. If I only have a couple of hours, then, I see the following in the public document:

  1. Other ALAC appointments
    1. The ALAC may, from time to time:
      • attribute specific tasks or responsibilities to a given individual;
      • appoint a given individual as ALAC representative in working groups, task forces, or other committees and bodies different from those to which Liaisons are appointed;
      • form Committees, attribute specific tasks or responsibilities to them, and appoint their members.

So, under Numeral 7, letter (a), sub-paragraph bullet point numbers one and three:

I nominate Jonathan Zittrain (bio: http://www.oii.ox.ac.uk/people/faculty.cfm?id=3) as Special Adviser to the At-Large Community on Internet Governance Policy for a term of one year. His primary responsibility would be to advise ALAC members, the at-large community and ICANN staff on policy formulation and priority-setting, and two-way communications to the user community.

We'd be very lucky to have Jonathan's attention and help.
