There will be plenty to discuss this week in Geneva. Such as recent proposals in the OECD and EU to tax Internet Commerce, the ongoing campaign for some kind of 'sender pay' scheme, especially to benefit developing countries, regulating the sharing economy, data regulation etc etc. Kudos to the Diplo crew for not only participating, but actively reporting.

This week April 16–20 2018 the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) will host its annual E-Commerce Week in Geneva, Switzerland. The event will be focused on the role of digital platforms in the evolving digital economy. Under the overarching theme ‘Development dimensions of digital platforms‘, participants an opportunity to discuss key challenges and opportunities arising from such platforms, and identify concrete actions to harness maximum benefits for developing countries. There is no webcast, but short interviews are being posted on Facebook and Twitter, also the Geneva Internet Platform is providing just-in-time reporting on individual sessions.
