What excellent news! Well deserved! I remember the time when I first
met you at the IGF in Bali in 2013, and you had already been in
contact with At-Large members and were carefully considering whether
getting involved in ICANN was time well spent. Since then, you have
travelled quite a remarkable path, and many have benefited from your
hard work - and I suspect this will continue in the future.

Kamel Award
for Capacity
Building is
Satish Babu.
The
award
recognizes
Satish for his
outstanding
efforts in
promoting the
multistakeholder model of Internet governance and building capacities on
a local and
regional
scale. In
particular,
his pioneering
leadership for
local and
regional
schools of
Internet
governance
were greatly
appreciated by
the ICANN
Board.
Selected
ICANN72
sessions will
be
livestreamed
on YouTube as
part of
ICANN's
continuing
efforts to
increase
accessibility.
These
view-only
livestreams
provide a
low-bandwidth
alternative
for attendees.
Today
is ICANN72
Tech Day,
which features
a series of
sessions aimed
at ICANN's
technical
community. The
three sessions
include
presentations
on the Domain
Name System
(DNS) Core
Census and the
DNS in
Automatic
Allocation of
Telecommunication Network Identifier Devices. Additionally, Tech Day
will feature a
presentation
on ICANN’s new
Registration
Data Access
Protocol
(RDAP)
conformance
tool.
Tech
Day brings
together
ICANN’s
technical
community, and
is open to
anyone
interested in
technical or
security-related
topics. Tech
Day continues
to grow and
has been part
of ICANN
Public
Meetings since
2006. It
provides a
forum to
discuss
technical
topics related
to registry
and DNS work
and security.
In
this regular
monthly
meeting, the
RSSAC will
discuss
administrative
and work
items. In
addition,
outgoing and
incoming RSSAC
liaisons will
provide their
reports. RSSAC
Caucus members
are welcome to
participate,
and the
meeting is
open to
observers.
The
Root Server
System
Advisory
Committee
(RSSAC)
consists of
root server
operators and
root zone
managers who
provide advice
and
information to
the ICANN
Board and
community on
topics that
are broadly
related to the
root server
system of the
internet.
