Dear colleagues,

Please allow me to warmly invite you to join us at the GigaNet Symposium on Day Zero of the IGF 2025 in Lillestrøm, Norway, for the session:

“From the Tunis Agenda to WSIS+20: Pioneering Sustainable Development with LEO Satellites as Critical Internet Infrastructure”
🗓️ 23 June 2025 | 🕘 09:00–10:10 | 📍 IGF 2025, Lillestrøm

This panel is an outcome of a broader research project on digital infrastructure governance, supported by the Internet Society Foundation. As WSIS+20 approaches, we focus on the growing significance of LEO satellite systems as critical Internet infrastructure and explore their potential for advancing the vision of the Tunis Agenda.

We also invite you to read and engage with our input paper Advancing Low Earth Orbit Satellite Internet Infrastructure", a product of the Summer School on Internet Governance, Infrastructure and Law (SSIGIL). This document offers practical, research-based recommendations to help ensure digital infrastructure supports sustainable development, protects human rights, and fits within clear legal frameworks.

Your comments, questions, and critical reflections are most welcome—either in advance or during the symposium discussion.

We hope you will join us for this timely dialogue on the future of the WSIS process and the role of inclusive, multistakeholder Internet governance in navigating the challenges of rapidly evolving digital infrastructure.

Kind regards,
Joanna Kulesza
