Asunto: Incorporation of PTI

Dear Chairs,

As you know, the formation of PTI is one of the key requirements of the ICG proposal. We are pleased to inform you that today, the ICANN Board approved the PTI Articles of Incorporation and directed ICANN staff to move forward with incorporating PTI under the name Public Technical Identifiers. The PTI Articles of Incorporation finished public comment on 31 July 2016 and the staff report and final Articles incorporating comments received was published earlier today, prior to the Board approval. Over the next couple of days, ICANN will be filing incorporation papers with the California Secretary of State. Once the filing is completed, ICANN will publish an announcement on our website. We are pleased to be able to report the completion of this key requirement in the 12 August 2016 implementation report to NTIA, and thank you for your continued support.
