[image: Global Accessibility Awareness Day] <http://www.globalaccessibilityawarenessday.org/>Today *Thursday, May 19 2016* is the fifth *Global Accessibility Awareness Day <http://www.globalaccessibilityawarenessday.org/>* (GAAD). Events are happening all over the world including NYC. The purpose of GAAD is to get people talking, thinking and learning about digital (web, software, mobile, etc.) accessibility and users with different disabilities. The target audience of GAAD is the design, development, usability, and related communities who build, shape, fund and influence technology and its use. While people may be interested in the topic of making technology accessible and usable by persons with disabilities, the reality is that they often do not know how or where to start. Awareness comes first. - *Events: http://www.globalaccessibilityawarenessday.org/events.html <http://www.globalaccessibilityawarenessday.org/events.html>* - *Hashtag #gaad: twitter <https://twitter.com/hashtag/gaad> | facebook <https://facebook.com/hashtag/gaad>* - *Read the blog post <http://mysqltalk.wordpress.com/2011/11/27/challenge-accessibility-know-how-n...> by Joe Devon that inspired GAAD.* Comment <http://isoc-ny.org/p2/8489#respond> See all comments <http://isoc-ny.org/p2/8489#comments> *Permalink* http://isoc-ny.org/p2/8489 -- --------------------------------------------------------------- Joly MacFie 218 565 9365 Skype:punkcast -------------------------------------------------------------- -
