Any one who follows my tweets would also know I had a 'formal' introduction / meeting with him yesterday morning ;-) BTW if you want my totally biased view => then it is "so far so good" and he has a Huge Thumbs Up from me based on that interaction and what I've searched out, watched and heard so far... So if/when this important appointment is confirmed his week, then we certainly will be in a time of transition with a leader well equipped to deal with those challenges *and* who understands ICANN's needs for Transparency Openness (as opposed to Open(m)ess but he does understand both our concerns and needs for both Internationalization as well as Regionalization as far as I can ascertain.... Very good. I had several good enough feedbacks. And a lot of comments about the challenges he will face anyway, just by the fact he is American & came from a part of the US gov people around the world has some antipathy... but internally he will quite better. I have heard somewhere that he has an in-depth understanding of the ICANN processes and knows the value of the importance and significance of structures such as at-Large and other important organizations that are significant to ICANN. I think we all can look forward to a CEO who is committed, someone with a good understanding of the ICANN history and processes, someone who would be a pleasure to work with. Diplomacy, Transparency, meeting Expectations and doing the rightful seems to be the best way forward. The challenge is how to balance it out - the way I see it at least.
