Re: [At-Large] v5 of the ICANN Stakeholder Analysis Tool - country analysis as well as regional analysis
Thanks Dev, The tool gives a lot of quick information and definitely staff should take it up for continuity. As a recent fellow, I am interested in the integration of new comers (first time badges) in the communities. This is something that can go a long way in informing the onboarding program. Happy New à tous! On Jan 6, 2018 03:09, "Alan Greenberg" <alan.greenberg@mcgill.ca> wrote: That's our hope Michele. Alan -- Sent from my mobile. Please excuse brevity and typos. Maybe the issue lies with “ownership”.
At the moment this is directly linked to ALAC specifically, but the information collated is probably of value to many other groups across the ICANN ecosystem.
ICANN employs people in different regions to do “stakeholder engagement” etc., so it would seem logical to me that they’d want to leverage this kind of information / tool and potentially give it a home.
Just my two cents

Michele

I've replaced the wording of Countries to "Countries/Territories"
hopefully throughout the tool.

also... we should probably use better terminology than "countries"... either "localities", "economies" or "countries and terrotories"
that corrects the problem of listing hong kong hk as a "country"

I'm very sure the idea - of adding registries and registrars - to the database came up. I recall there was some pushback on acquiring qualified data - that is, data with the granularity that makes it fit for this initiative - with the least cost and effort.
The value add to that effort is Dev's tool. I know he invested a lot of time - not to mention the time he takes helping me find things! - and I applaud his effort. Maybe if the data can be sourced and added to the database then it would be very useful indeed.

Interesting
Why are you including ccNSO and GAC, but not including registrars, registries or any of the other CSG?

Hello All,
I have done a fifth version of the ICANN Stakeholder Analysis Tool
which allows for the ability to search by country:
- At-Large Representation
- ccNSO membership
- GAC Membership
- The Number of Fellowships
and also do an regional or worldwide analysis on At-Large, ccNSO and
GAC stakeholders . Screenshots attached.
The Stakeholder Tool can be accessed at
https://community.icann.org/display/atlarge/ICANN+ Stakeholder+Analysis+Tool
If you investigate the Countries sheet, you can see the variations of
country names that different ACs, SOs and the Fellowship Programme
within ICANN use to represent the same country.
There's also a Nextgen sheet that if someone is willing to volunteer
to help enter the information. The Nextgen sheet is open for anyone to
edit.
Thoughts, comments appreciated.
