I abstained from the last round of ALS voting to object to the ad hoc nature of these votes (including pressured revisions to evaluation criteria. lack of clarity in the due diligence, and multiple extensions of time while voting was underway) and the manner in which ICANN staff has attempted to influence them. I hope these substantive and procedural irregularities will be corrected before the next round of voting. --Wendy
Dear Wendy This is very confusing - unless my language skills are SORELY lacking. I don't believe that these allegations characterise the circumstances properly. The vote was constituted according to procedure, extended by decision of the Committee (no objections from you) because some wanted a bit more time, owing to different personal reasons. The evaluation criteria are up for discussion at San Juan, and were not rushed to be implemented before the vote - indeed, many of us voted BEFORE the teleconference at which they were discussed and it was decided to postpone the issue to San Juan. If you think that you have evidence that I ran this vote improperly or if you have specific issues you wish to have addressed then please bring those specifics, in detail, to the committee at the San Juan public ALAC meeting so they can be discussed in an open forum.
