European MP says "unbelievable" German high school student getting away with domain scam
UPDATE: European MP "unbelievable" German high school student getting away with fraud *April 26, 2010* Today a German member of the European Parliament said its "unbelievable that this could happen" to the Gymnasium Querfurt in Germany. Christopher Mettin a student at the prestigious German high school continues to sell Top-Level Domains using his schools reputation as a marketing tool. Mettin is an associate of Herman Xennt a convicted felon in the Netherlands (details at main story below). Dr. Hans-Jorg Daumer Principle of the Gymnasium Querfurt said "Christopher is not commissioned to act on behalf of the Gymnasium Querfurt" and further stated Mettin would be prohibited from using the schools name to sell domains. But to date the principles efforts have been in vein. Mettins website<http://bit.ly/cUW3Z1>and the INAIC.com <http://bit.ly/bxsJX7> site run by Herman Xennt continue to use the schools reputation to sell a questionable product and service to unsuspecting members of the public. EU MP Jan Albrecht advises any victims in the fraud contact the German police directly. Main story: http://bit.ly/5AEP1w
What does this have to do with ICANN? This is plain old fraud. R's, John PS: If you act now, I may be able to arrange for participation in a unique trans-fluvial transportation-related real estate opportunity in the lower Manhattan area of New York. On Mon, 26 Apr 2010, Joe Baptista wrote:

So if they put your name there, this scam would be your fault? We'll get right on it. R's, John
No - not my fault. I uncovered it - exposed it - and trashed it. I supported them and when I discovered they were a scam I buried them. Incidentally SITA was also involved in the scam. They were well represented but were more victims in the scam. Check it out ... if you go to the INAIC site - http://www.inaic.com/ and enter the top level domain SITA into the whois - you'll get SITA of .AERO fame. The thing that bothers me is that ICANN has never made any attempt to remove it's name and that of IANA from the INAIC web site. Because ICANN has failed to take any action people make the natural mistake of assuming INAIC is ICANN approved. ICANN does less to protect the public and brand name then do other companies who's identity has been used in the same way. Akzo-Nobel, Phillips Electronics, Hilton Hotels, KFC etc. etc. have all writen cease and desist letters and been removed - except for ICANN. Why is that? regards joe baptista On Mon, Apr 26, 2010 at 9:54 PM, John R. Levine <johnl@iecc.com> wrote:

Why is that?
Because, unfortunately, there aren't any trademark lawyers involved in ICANN. - Evan
