Is ICANN's own DNS getting hijacked?
"One thing's for sure. If ICANN and IANA can lose control of their own domains, anyone can" http://blogs.zdnet.com/security/?p=1356 Is there a reason that we're finding out about this from external news media and not from within ICANN? - Evan
Evan and all, This is old news now. And yes tthe reason is that ICANN's lack of openess and transparency. Simple logical deduction my dear Evan. Evan Leibovitch wrote:

It was covered by several ICANN newsletters / bulletins etc., so you either: - missed them - aren't subscribed to them Mr Michele Neylon Blacknight Solutions Hosting & Colocation, Brand Protection http://www.blacknight.com/ http://blog.blacknight.com/ Intl. +353 (0) 59 9183072 US: 213-233-1612 UK: 0844 484 9361 Locall: 1850 929 929 Direct Dial: +353 (0)59 9183090 Fax. +353 (0) 1 4811 763 ------------------------------- Blacknight Internet Solutions Ltd, Unit 12A,Barrowside Business Park,Sleaty Road,Graiguecullen,Carlow,Ireland Company No.: 370845
Michele and all, They weren't in ICANN's own newsletters/bullitins until they were first reported by independent Internet news agencies. Ergo the SASC wasn't on the job. And still, ICANN hasn't mandated IPSEC, nor has it implemented to this day. As such. ICANN.ORG is still subject to continual DNS hijacking and especially IPhijacking. As a long time security professional, this clearly demonstrates that ICANN's SSAC isn't acting in a truly professional manner. Michele Neylon :: Blacknight wrote:

Michele and all, No conspiracy at all. Just some instances of gross incompatancy from time to time. Typical really, given ICANN's history. So just go back to the pub, and have another few pints! Oh, and while your there and the PM stops in, which I am sure he will be along shortly, give him my regards! >:) Michele Neylon :: Blacknight wrote:
