For the Record.
Alfa-Redi (ALS accredited in LatinAmerica) express public support to Vittorio Bertola to the be the ALAC Liason Board, not only because he was our past chair of ALAC, we understand correctly the reality of the different regions, and is involved directly in the issues of ALAC.
Alfa-Redi like Acredited ALS express their position because
Our second candidate if Vittorio don't accept the position, we believed could be Sebastien Bachollet
In any case we support another candidate to this position.
The delegates from each RALO in the ALAC will take the decision, we hope their decision are based in the best for the At-Large System, a lot of people work so hard for the At-Large system, our organization really believe in the work of Vittorio Bertola
Yours

Erik: As a representative of the North American region, I am forming my opinion and decision based on a variety of factors. The most important being the comments I get from the ALS in my region, as it is they whom I represent. As well, I will consult with key constituencies based in North America to see whom they believe will be the most effective voice for users at the ICANN board level. Comments from other regions and organizations such as yours will be into consideration, however comments from the NA region, specifically the ALSs from the NA RALO will take precedence. My focus in the coming days will be to make sure that the procedures for the process are well defined and as democratic as possible. I prefer having a vote as soon as possible as it will give the board a clear signal we don't leave such important decisions until the very last minute. Should the existing incumbent be re-elected, he will know that he can plan ahead confident his colleagues have given him one year to continue. Conversely, if a new person is elected - he or she will be given valuable time to get acquainted with the numerous files on the tale for the board and prepare for any new issues that might arise at the LA meeting. regards Robert On 28-Jun-07, at 11:39 AM, Jacqueline A.
