Re: [At-Large] [ALAC-Announce] VOTE RESULTS: ALAC Election on the Board Liaison for 2009/2010
I'd like to congratulate everyone involved in this hard to choose between set of candidates All those offering themselves so professionally to serve our community as nominees, those who acted in the selection processes from the Regions, the electorate and their advisors; as well as the staff support for all the calls and wiki set ups... As I said in my closing of the Community Call with Candidates on the 20th, it would be a privilege and an honour to work with any of those present (and who all performed so very well indeed!!!, In what I believe was an extensive fair and informative process) as our ALAC Liaison to the ICANN Board for this final term... Most importantly the ALAC and At-Large will benefit enormously from the continued efforts and energy that each of these amazing volunteers will bring; As Sebastien and Alan both continue in their formal (and essential) ALAC roles for another 12 months I see the election of Vanda (who would have otherwise been leaving our fold) by the ALAC to return to the Board for this final term where we have an AC Liaison as an excellent choice (yet really they all were) but I expect that her energy as our ' trusted ambassador' and champion for At-Large in this role will not be limited to that of 'just' the Liaison role but I expect her to continue as an integral and essential part of the ALAC team, as well as to strengthen and develop greater ties and interaction with the Regions, RALO's ALSes and wider At-Large Community as we implement the changes outlined in our ALAC Review as well as in the continuation of our expanding role and effectiveness in Policy Development and Processes within ICANN. Wendy's role in ICANN will now be focused in the GNSO as a NCUC appointed councillor and we wish her all the best in this indeed; Seth (and those of you who for various reasons withdrew or could not agree to run for this position at this time) => your community has identified your leadership skills and I'm sure there will be many opportunities in the coming months for your contributions to be made and developed in the ALAC and Community Leadership roles we need to undertake and I'm sure our faith in you all will indeed be rewarded... I know your all on my short-list of potential leadership, policy development, representational and change agent volunteers... My kindest regards to you all... CLO Sébastien Bachollet wrote:
