My own request had been sent to Joette Youkhanna, who I believe(d) to be ICANN support staff for the NomComm, CC'd to Wolfgang (NomCom chair) and Eduardo (the NARALO-selected NomCom member), however that request was not sent very long ago. - Evan
Yes staff is also included in the plan to review several issues real and hypothetical that have come to light and been reviewed based on questions to and advice from ICANN Legal; obviously NARALO's inquiry will be responded to directly and will be certainly covered in the larger discussion I need to have as ALAC Chair NomCom appointments are to the ALAC not the RALOs of course, (this is likely to be next week however as Adam has been unable to find a time to meet until then as he is travelling) I'll ask Heidi to make sure we co-ordinate rather than duplicate, various action on this as well, as we now have questions on the same issue going in several directions. To be clear my aim is to have a discussion and establish what IS possible (in relation to NomCom appointments and their current and future role in ALAC / in Board selection processes) to do as well as look to future planning. Hi, I wasn't questioning peoples preparedness for this critical vote. I was just looking at the numbers and found them interesting. I think tracking all the numbers of participation, or number of who download documents and recording etc... says a lot about what works and what doesn't work in terms of participation, Not everyone participate in the same way. I just think we should track the way in which people do participate. I know staff tracks all of this stuff , i.e. how may downloads, in how many languages, to what countries, how many people on each phone call, etc, and in terms of tracking the participatory growth of the At-Large, these things are interesting. I would love to see charts of how people participate and in what way charted over the last few years of ALAC. Are graphs of these sorts of things available? a. I wasn't at the call, but very aware about the statements, profile and recordings. Also, as RALO leader, the responsability is harder because we need to make sure that the ALSs at least had a the chance to provide an opinion regarding the candidates. I don't feel so confortable about people watching how much information do I read or hear about candidates, specially when I am working in At Large since 2006 and knowing Alan, Sebastien and Pierre (a little less) since then.
