Dear All: FYI, with respect to the RAA Consultation, as I mentioned to many of you in Paris, the documents are being translated now and should be ready shortly. Beau, the lead on ALAC for the RAA Working Group, has asked that a briefing be scheduled for the members of the WG and we are working on arranging this at present. -- Regards, Nick Ashton-Hart, Matthias Langenegger, Frederic Teboul ICANN At-Large Staff email: staff@atlarge.icann.org
Nick and all, Interesting, I did not get this request on the WG list. Is there any reason why that might have occured that your aware of? At-Large Staff wrote:

Beau, the lead on ALAC for the RAA Working Group, has asked that a briefing be scheduled for the members of the WG and we are working on arranging this at present According to http://www.icann.org/public_comment/#dpc-raa-2008 the deadline for public comment closes August 4. NARALO's conference call happened yesterday and there won't be another one until the deadline is passed. So this timing does not make public consultation (ie, the theoretical interaction between ALAC, RALOs and ALSs) realistically possible.
If even the WG does not yet know what's going on with just over two weeks before the deadline, what chance do the rest of us have. Also: It was raised during yesterday's NARALO call that a number of proposed additions to the RAA -- ones which would have prevented the RegisterFly situation (or a repeat) -- were rejected. When drafting the documents please address what was not included (but submitted for consideration) as well as what remains. - Evan
