I also agree and urge the group to take action now to ensure that our mtg next week is open and transparent first by providing public notice of the session and then by making the arrangements to permit in-person attendance and remote monitoring as was our practice in 2011. ----- Original Message ----- From: atrt2-bounces@icann.org <atrt2-bounces@icann.org> To: Alice Jansen <alice.jansen@icann.org>; Avril Doria <AvrilDoria@pir.org>; ATRT2 <atrt2@icann.org> Sent: Mon Mar 04 10:39:21 2013 Subject: Re: [atrt2] Open Archive Alice, Speaking only for myself, I would be in favor of having the email archives open. Thanks

Hi,
I have been attending the WSIS+10 / IGF meeting in Paris this week. In a panel on WGIG+8, I spoke of the AOC and especially the ATRT as among the improvements that had been seen in Internet governance since the WGIG Report.
During that talk, I spoke of the ATRT function in the ICANN system and included mention of the transparency of the groups. Since then I have been asked whether our email archives are open, one of the hallmarks of a transparent group. I have assumed so, but don't know. We spoke of it, but I am ot sure where the discussion ended up. Are they, and what URL can I give people?
Thanks

Hi, Thanks for this. I would go so far as to request that whether it is through streaming or other mechanisms, our discussions in LA should be streamed live and that those recording also be placed in public archives. GNSO council currently does this for all their meetings successfully, so the way to do this should be well known. avri On 4 Mar 2013, at 11:11, Larry Strickling wrote:

Speaking only for myself, I would be in favor of having the email archives open. While ATRT2 has not yet adopted its methodology for conducting meetings/communications etc., I think defaulting to openness and transparency is the better approach. I would welcome the thoughts of all. Thanks.
