When I visited Copenhagen in 1969, I was impressed by their mailboxes. Each mailbox had a window showing the expected time of the next pickup. The time in the window could only be changed from inside the box, i.e. by the postman, so if you deposited mail at, say 2:00 p.m., and the window showed the mail would be picked up at 3:00 p.m., you might drop by sometime after 3:00 to see if the time in the window had changed. How might this apply to us? Let me suggest trying out the following regimen. Whenever we know something will be posted in a few days, let's post that fact in the place where the posting will be. So, in the case of the recordings and transcripts for our sessions, let's post immediately a placeholder that indicates when the full entry is expected. If the item is indeed posted by that time, all is well. If it's not, then the community has a right to ask what's happening. And, of course, it's always possible to post a new estimate of when the full item will be posted, perhaps with an explanation of the delay. What I like most about this idea is that it's both a practical solution and it establishes a new high bar for transparency.
