On 13 May 2022, the Council and the European Parliament agreed on the Directive on measures for a high common level of cybersecurity across the EU (NIS 2 Directive), which adapts the previous NIS Directive to current needs. The BC has been very active in explaining issues with legitimate access to registrant data to the European Institutions. We believe that this directive will be a cornerstone in reducing DNS abuse and allow for the development of future policies that will help tackle this challenge of DNS abuse.
