Chris,

Thanks for bringing this question forward.  The point is indeed somewhat confusing for anyone who was not in the meeting, as I read it now.

The reference is made to one of the components of outreach that was discussed, namely tapping into current and past ICANN Fellowship recipients to spread the word about the work of the Nom Com and the positions that we are looking to fill this year.  At the same time, a discussion arose around how to draft a concise, compelling statement for presentation to Fellowship recipients so that they, in turn, could take our message into their circles of influence.  A recommendation to work with ICANN Communications staff or PR agency to have a copywriter highlight the desire of the Nom Com to have true global diversity represented at ICANN - in such a ‘statement/article’ - to generate as much interest as possible, was accepted by the Committee.

I hope that this brings some clarity to the point we were trying to highlight in the Report Card.

Kind regards,

RA

Ron,

Thanks for your work on this with Waudo and for the report card which was interesting to read..

I did not understand this comment, or is it to separate points roed together in the notes?

“Suggestions that some work be done with the ICANN fellowship recipient community. Joette

will follow up with Janice (ICANN fellowship staff support), that the Nom Com work with the

ICANN PR agency, and that articles be written to highlight the need for global representation

in ICANN.”

If you can clarify.

Dear colleagues,

As you know, we instituted Report Cards this year for the first time in the Nominating Committee’s history to ensure that all ICANN stakeholders are privy to as much information as the Nom Com can release without compromising its work to find and appoint candidates to fill key positions within ICANN.  Therefore, it is with pleasure that Waudo Siganga and I provide the BC membership with the Nominating Committee Report Card from our meeting this past Wednesday, March 20th.

As always, should you have any thoughts, comments or recommendations for appointees, please do not hesitate to be in contact with either Waudo or me.

Kind regards,

RA
