I am confused about the term "advisory election" and that the officers would "decide who to appoint to the second NomCom slot."

Surely the election result would tell us who the members would like to appoint to the second Nominating Committee seat?

Perhaps you could clarify?

the Ombudsman requests our input. Ombudsman's complaints often take several
weeks.

Meanwhile, the second election for the 'large business' slot is open for
nominations until end of this Thursday, and the election will follow as
previously announced by the Secretariat.  The Officers will consider the
outcome of that advisory election, and will then decide who to appoint to
this second NomCom slot.
