Your comment reminded me of the sales platform adopted by Oracle CEO, Larry Ellison.  He often says IT professionals are just going to have to get used to spending less to get more done.  ICANN should be encouraged to implement technology rather than need to hire and retain a phalanx of people in support of its mission.

great job.

i would expand our support for Compliance by also mentioning the need for upgrades to their systems. all those analyses they do for us are basically done by hand -- they really need an upgrade to their systems to redirect their staff hours back to real compliance work instead of just being clerks. i'm attaching the memo that a gaggle of us working-group participants (IRTP and RAP as i recall) sent to the budget folks a couple years ago. the net result was no systems and David Giza getting fired. but the issue remains. perhaps even more important now that new gTLDs are about to arrive…
