Zahid,

I am not concerned about the loss of the GPML.

It did nothing for small business anyway.

We should focus on a reform of the UDRP to include some sort of  entry level  first round electronic UDRP.

Global brands spend millions of $ defending their rights.

The cost (per domain cyber-squatted ) to a small business is even higher as they don’t have any infrastructure in place.

Asunto: [bc-gnso] Really Brief RPM issues

Possible short phrases to characterise some of the Staff Proposals for RPMs:

IP Clearing House – Won’t work if domain name’s being cybersquatted using hyphens (spaces, hyphens, punctuation, special characters etc.)

URS - We are moving from an age where cars used to go 10 miles an hour to where they can go 100 miles an hour but for car manufacturers to include seat belts remains optional/best practice.

Post Delegation – Registry can turn ‘blind eye’ to systemic TM infringement.

GPML – Gone – Businesses will HAVE TO undertake Defensive Registrations – basically PAY for unwanted domains in EVERY new gTLD.

Sincerely,

Zahid Jamil
