The ICANN Commercial and Business Users Constituency (BC) underscores the importance of the announcement by the U.S. Commerce Department to transition the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) functions contract to the global multistakeholder community. The BC commits to engage in the ICANN bottom-up, multistakeholder process to develop a consensus-based plan for the transition of IANA and appropriate accountability mechanisms.
