Having participated in some of the BC outreaches and also with my knowledge of WITSA, I quite appreciate Omar's effort at wanting to reach out to WITSA and the expected benefit to the BC. I therefore vote in support of this request.

Kind regards,

Gracious we have an input already. Hoping others would clock in some contributions.

With this further clarity, I give my YES to Omar’s request. I hope the BC indeed develops some benefits therefrom.

I believe once we receive other proposals, we can proceed to analyze on merits and approve accordingly.

All good wishes, Omar as you represent us well.

In a related but different development, may I request we have reports of IGF funded BC outreaches for review, please.

Thanks a lot.

Happy Holidays all.

Omar, thanks for this detailed and very compelling proposal.

I support use of CROP for Asia and up to an additional amount from the BC to pay for printing materials -- Maybe you can keep the cost of printing under $200 for the BC newsletters from ICANN 60 - 50 copies, and 100-150 copies of an updated Fact Sheet.  I also support up to $500 in BC support to enable bilaterals over breakfast or dinner with senior executives from the ICT WITSA members, and other Businesses from India, to explore BC membership, using the printed materials, in addition to the presentation to the WITSA Board of ICT executives.

I think that the CROP funds will pay the registration if we approve it immediately and meet the 6 week deadline, but if you can negotiate a small reduction, I am sure that ICANN CROP will appreciate that.  However, we cannot delay in approval if we are to meet the 6 week deadline, as you also have to obtain a visa.

Recruitment from WCIT:
I hope that we can as a first priority re recruit WITSA itself, as well as 2-3 of the ICT associations, especially if we can encourage some from Asia countries.

I also appreciate that you are willing to spend the time to do this, as I know that it is a challenge to be away from business responsibilities, every time one of our BC Outreach members devotes so much time on behalf of the BC.

I ask that other Outreach Committee members respond today, so that we can gain support from the ExeComm.

Other requests for CROP have a longer time frame, so are not as urgent; however, I have asked Andrew Mack to submit a detailed proposal which can be discussed within the Outreach Committee perhaps in the first week or two of January.

Omar's request is more urgent if we are to gain CROP approval, which will cover the majority of costs for his outreach at the WITSA.

Subject: [Bc-outreach] CROP/BC Funding Proposal for Outreach at WCIT 2018

Dear BC Outreach Committee:

I would like to submit a proposal, attached, for your review and approval of CROP and BC Funding to hold a BC Outreach Activity at the World Congress on IT (WCIT). If you, Outreach Committee and ExComm members, can please approve my proposal, by Friday, so we can meet the CROP deadline, due to circumstances the deadline is short to qualify for the CROP funding,

WCIT, taking place between February 18-21, 2018 in Hyderabad, India, is the world’s premier event on IT, where about 4,000 industry association leaders, business executives, high officials and influential individuals are taking part. This provides a unique opportunity for BC to get engaged with the global business community, especially from the Asia Pacific and Central Asia and South Asia (CASA) regions.

I will need a visa to attend, which I can do upon an approval of the proposal. An earlier approval will help booking flights and accommodation at a reasonable price.

Please, feel free to let me know if you have questions.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Regards,
Omar
