The event is exactly as I forwarded months ago — haven’t changed a thing except to have gotten Chris Mondini’s agreement that ICANN can cover all costs and that he will be available.
The challenge honestly has been with the organizers. Pablo has been enthusiastic, but a combination of other duties around ICANN61, power and internet outages and a health scare have made this fall down a bit on the agenda understandably.
Where we are is this: the committee that Pablo chairs with the Chamber will meet on 2/28 and he expects to get agreement then. Assuming this is approved as expected, he will take charge of inviting his people, and will tell us how we can invite others
from our side in keeping with Chamber practice. Didn’t envision this as closed, just waiting for confirmation and the Chamber’s rules if any for inviting.
Once we agree on timing, there are few logistics save ordering coffee and discussing who from our side is going to speak. I think everyone on outreach, without question, knows the issues/pitch. Pablo will confirm which of our issues will be of most interest
to the local audience, so I think we should be good. I will confirm the timing.
I recognize that CSG Closed is now planned for 5-6:30 on Sunday, so this might mean we don’t go for a drink as suggested after the program or that a small number of us miss the Closed session to spend time with the Chamber folks.
The reason I put down doodle availability later in the week is so we’d have the results of Pablo’s meeting before we speak. I recognize that the Nigerian weekend starts Friday AM DC/Argentina time.
Apologies all for the delays and thank you for your understanding — I got a “yes" literally months ago as you know, but getting beyond that has been a challenge and under the circumstances couldn’t really push any harder than I have.

PS — great idea about bringing the attendees to the ICANN meeting. I would definitely like to do that and will be counting on the OC Team to help/give guidance on this. Two ideas for this — one would be to invite any interested newbies to our BC Open
meeting or another meeting we think might be particularly appropriate given the subject. The other might be, if a cocktail/gathering is not possible Sunday night as originally envisioned, to try to find a time where we could meet for an hour near the venue
informally for a beverage as we did with the Francophone night in Joburg. Thoughts?
