Wow, even better news! So, let's focus on the materials.

Thanks.
I asked several questions. Most of them are answered. And I support the event and the funding request. It is great that Andrew is agreeing to speak remotely.
I agree that this is a good event for BC Outreach and Membership Recruitment and is very cost effective.
I ask that the key messages from both Nivaldo and Andrew be shared with the Outreach Committee, Information about attendees [that was actually NOT clarified], and also a brief description about the recruitment and to whom. For instance, I asked about who is attending from Brazilian business. The key messages should be shared asap, but of course, the rest of the information can be in the meeting report that is required for all BC events.
Can we look at the two pager to see if it is the right document to distribute? And do it asap? I didn't see a commitment to printing BC materials, and again, that should be funded by the BC budget support, of course!
These events organized by ICANN [I participated in one in the Caribbean] are mostly about DNS business development or applying for fellowship funding, so it is great that we are able to take advantage of it to advance the BC messages. Especially as we have such well experienced speakers.

Back from the UN meetings. Quickly, Outreach Team, any objections? As I said below, I think MC’s questions are answered re budget, audience in his earlier note.
Nivaldo, to Marilyn’s point about goal — members, outreach or a combination — can you reply? Also on her question about fact sheets, assuming this is possible in the time frame. If so, how much to print locally?
Thanks all for your prompt replies,Andrew

Nivaldo, what do you think?Andrew
Sent from my iPhoneAndrew thanks for forwarding this. I appreciate that you made a quick reference to it during the BC call, however, we need to follow a bit more process, which should be very quick.
First, I am attaching a rough English translation so that everyone can consider this from the Outreach Committee. While the BC always wants to translate documents for the locality, we also need to always recall that the official working language of ICANN is English and it always saves time, when the proposer of an event provides both English and also the documents that are in the event language, so thanks so much for forwarding.
Andy, as you know, all outreach events need to be presented in writing to the full Outreach Committee, so thanks for forwarding this, and my deep apologies if I missed the earlier description of the proposed outreach event. I do so regret that we didn't get the BC Outreach Strategy posted, so that we could use CROP funding to support this.
However, as time is so short, and it does not meet our requirement for giving full enough time for review, I will support an expedited review/discussion, and comments about key messages that should be delivered, including the use of approved BC Fact Sheet, and other approved messages about the BC and what we focus on.
Translation and Printing costs:
Usually, we would have time to use ICANN resources to translate the latest fact sheet but that won't work, now, given that there is such short notice for the BC and we can't get that additional approval from ICANN resources.
Can the translation and printing be done in Brazil, overseen by you, Nivaldo, and then hand carried into the event? How many copies will be needed? [the proposed number and costs should be included in the event budget, which I added in below, as something we could really use your update on just to make it very easy for Outreach Committee members to quickly review.]
It is great that you have achieved this opportunity, Nivaldo and now, we need to quickly hear from the rest of the BC Outreach Committee with any suggestions or comments. Also, as Andrew is aware, we do require a few more bits of information --
e.g.
How many people will attend this event? What groups are they from - will there be a significant number of business entities attending? Will this primarily be a Brazilian audience?
Is the BC engagement primarily awareness, or membership recruitment, or both? [Both are well justified in our Outreach Strategy but we just need to know the purpose]. Just a sentence or two.
Will you be able to translate the BC Factsheet into Portuguese? Will they be printed in Brazil? [It is too late to get such support from ICANN who usually does our translations]. This will add to the cost of the participation but we shouldn't overlook the importance of something tangible on site.
Key BC Messages:
Can you share the key messages that will be presented in the BC's name by the two BC speakers -- Usually, a short PP is used, or even just a set of key points might be what you plan to use. [that includes both Andrew and also Nivaldo.
Outreach events, as you know, supported by the BC, do incorporate approved messages from the BC; e.g. what our mission is; why we are unique from contracted parties; what our priorities are; why we work at ICANN and in the larger IG ecosystem. so nothing new, but just asking how you will reflect the BC's mission and core activities into the close to 2 hour session.
Can you identify who the "Presidents of Entities" are? That should be very useful, if there will be high level attendees speaking in that session.
Just a small reminder that a meeting report will be required, any time the BC provides funding for Outreach events. But as Andrew is participating, of course, he can help to do that drafting.
I support the concept of the BC engagement and really appreciate that Nilvado has used his great contacts within Brazil to take advantage of this opportunity.
Establish the budget request more clearly:
Let me also ask if you can present a summary of the budget request, rather than sending along receipts, as much as I appreciate that.
Travel costs: for whom/amount
Hotel costs: for whom/amount
Any other expected expenses: identify and amount. [this might be local transportation from airport to hotel, for instance].
Printing costs: estimate?
Translation costs of Factsheet, if applicable:estimate.
Next Steps:
I look forward to hearing back on the few questions, and in principle, once we all have a chance to review as the Outreach Committee and determine that this is part of a previously approved Strategy and budget, then we should be able to approve it at the Outreach Committee level and not have to go to the full membership, which would be a serious challenge, given that we should be approving within the next few days, and also seeing the key messages proposed from Nivaldo and Andrew.

I got this from Nivaldo. From my side it seems in line with our goals. I am not requiring any resources. As you know from our call, we received this request as part of a program that is ICANN is involved in and we did not know of this opportunity until just recently.
Appreciate your prompt replies,Andrew

Dear Andrew, Jimson
Thank you for the great support.
Here goes the simple plan:
- Audience expected
- 100 qualified heads. RioInfo strong point is the possibility to reach Presidents and active members of IT Associations as well as Business leaders.
- We will have an ICANN office in the exhibition area, so the idea is also to bring them for 1-to-1 interactions/interview and prepare a report to you. Like this, we can rest assured Rio is well covered for ICANN business engagements in 2018.
- What you’re planning to speak on
- Importance of Brazil/Rio business engagement in BC
- Current status of Policy making in ICANN and hot topics for business stakeholders. Why they should act.
- Clarify ways of participation with examples (what we learned from recent interactions with FEBRABAN-Banks Association and CNI (Industry Confederation)
- Strong emphasis on the good moment in 2018 around ICANN meetings in LAC region. Promote Fellowships and NextGen AND offer guidance in these processes.
- Agree on readout sessions after ICANN meetings for the Rio’s business community
- Budget
- Airline: US$ 590,20 - pdf attached
- Hotel: US$ 54,00
- Total........US$644,00
Andrew: for the 1-to-1 interactions, I will rely on Daniel to transmit me the questions you and him discussed some time ago on the engagement plan. So we can prepare a good report to present you during Abu Dhabi meeting.
Best regards,

Thanks Jimson. Agreed – sounds like a good return on investment but we do need to follow the process.
By all means keep it simple Nivaldo:
- Audience expected
- What you’re planning to speak on
- Budget
Thanks, A

Dear friends Jimson Olufuye and Andrew Mack
I was very honored to be invited by Daniel Fink - Global Stakeholder Engagement LAC ICANN, to participate in one of the biggest Technology events in Brazil.
It will certainly be an important moment for us to develop the Outreach of BC in our continental country, and to spread the message of the importance of the participation of entrepreneurs and foment new businesses within ICANN.
During the presentation, it would be great to connect CEO Andrew Mack live, and he could interact with the audience in the auditorium. This is the session we configured:
http://rioinfo.com.br/2017/05/10/seminario-icann/
Perhaps in this Congress I will be able to invite some members and increase the participation of Latin America members in BC.
Now I just need to ask if you can provide an air ticket and one night in the hotel for my participation in this event.
Thanks in advance
