Marilyn,

Just back and thanks for the kind word.  It was nice to have the family time!

I’m also mindful of the dates.  Recognizing that we can iron out details closer to time as we did in Joburg can I get everyone’s no objection so we don’t miss the deadline?

Thanks! Andrew

Just being a little paranoid regarding dates. Do enjoy your family time.

We missed too many CROP deadlines last year, as we all know, so want to be sure that we are okay on this one.

It would be great to include Chris, and always good to get a little additional sponsorship and participation from ICANN.

Not in any way to contradict the local hosts, but my experience in many countries is that events on Sunday are often challenging, due to family commitments.   Maybe we should have a back up time in mind actually during the ICANN meeting, at the venue?  Just an idea for back up?  Chris could assist in getting an onsite room, if that is the direction you decide to go in.

Marilyn,
On quick vacation with the family, but in the interest of time wanted to get back ASAP. I confirmed with Jimson we have a few days before deadline but you’re right not much time.

To your questions, haven’t reached out to Chris but will. Good idea. I will invite and ask if he’d like to participate and if he can help with budget, but the total cost is small so we’re fine either way.

In terms of number of speakers, Pablo recommends no more than 2 hours based on typical meetings there, but that’s plenty of time to have opportunities for different BC voices.

In terms of Rotary, I think that will be fine but we’ll defer to our hosts. Would be surprised if it’s an issue.

Really appreciate getting everyone’s support on this within the next day or so so I can send to Excomm.  It should be a simple, impactful program.

Thanks, Andrew

Andrew, I just looked at the calendar and I think that your full proposal has to be

first reviewed by the Outreach Committee and then forwarded to the ExComm

and needs a CROP document and it seems to me that we may be facing a deadline

today or at least in next few days to meet the required deadlines

Can you perhaps provide some clarification:

1)do we have ICANN support from Chris Mondini as a speaker? and perhaps as a

collaborative sponsor for coffee, etc.

2)can we include the business attendees that we are recruiting as guest attendees

3) I have contacts with Rotary International - can we include guests from Rotary, or

is this event limited to only the Chamber?

4) what are the opportunities for speaking roles for BC members, such as Tola, Jimson, Arinola,

Execomm

This sounds like a useful event, but as with the event in S.Africa, it needs to be open to including

attendees from business, both present and future members if we are funding it.

I think that this is now time sensitive, however, and needs first full Outreach Committee endorsement, before then gaining ExComm support.
