(Sorry, I couldn't respond earlier as you know Sunday is a VERY busy day for me in Church.)
 
Unfortunately, the eCommerce day 2018 schedule does not fall within FY18 Budget that could be FY19 (July 1 - June 30). I recommend the Outreach Committee discuss this as part of their FY19 budget input.
 
However, wrt Panama (which falls within FY18 budget cycle), yes we have LATAM outreach budget that is yet to be utilized.

I have a proposal for an outreach program in Panama with GRUPO CERCA (http://grupocerca.com), which worked with eCommerce Institute in Panamá to organice "eCommerce Day Panamá 2017" (http://www.ecommerceday.org/tours/ecommerce-day-panama-2017/) and will also work this year together with us, for eCommerce Day Panamá 2018 in October 2018. (http://www.ecommerceday.org/tours/ecommerce-day-panama-2018/) 
 
I am having a call tomorrow with them. 
 
Would this fall within our current budget?  If so, do we have resources still available for organizing something with this group during ICANN Panamá?
 
Of course I will send more information to the Outreach Committee, as soon as I talk to them and have a better idea of the possible participants from their side, in this potential event to be organized with the BC.

Given the responses [or lack thereof] by ICANN org to several comment "threads", I am not too optimistic myself.

 

For instance, there was a pretty strong push back against the community's suggestion that hiring be frozen.

Excomm would need to have a finalized FY19 Budget for approval at the Panama meeting.
 
But as I've announced during several calls for input, the draft is already in the works and I plan to send the first draft to the Finance Committee for their input before the next BC call.
 
With respect to the proposed ICANN cuts, the substance is yet to be out but we need to be ready for any eventualities.

No call has been held as yet.  I know people have been traveling and busy but we are overdue for a call. Are OC members available the week of May 14?
 
Jimson when are budgets needed by Excomm and in what form -- discussion draft, recommended final etc.?
 
Last question, do we have a clear sense of what changes there will be in the ICANN side of the budget?  It there are final cuts to things like CROP, would be good to figure in out thinking.

I believe Andrew was working on a conference call for the Outreach committee. Apologies, I confess I have been sort of standing by. 

 

I'll also pay attention. I just arrived in Dubai and have 4 hours layover before I fly for 14.5 hours, so hope to get some comments shortly before I fly out.

 

It could be the Andrew was able to hold the working call without me, as I have been off line a lot.
