I have some concerns about the BC 4,981.63 Outreach funds that were sent to Omar Mansoor Ansari in Afghanistan back in April.
This is what I know.
The funds arrived in Omars personal account (as requested
A few days later Omar reported a request to return the funds-
Omar first thought the request came from BC or the BC bank La Caixa, but it was not.
Omar’s bank manager request permission form him to remove the funds saying the intermediary bank had not settled.
The funds have not returned to La Caixa.
Omar has asked his AIB Afgan Int Bank what is happening and they have not replied.
La Caixa have asked the foreign banks for info and they have not replied.
I met with our bank manager today and she thinks the money had been removed from the beneficiary account because of compliance reasons and not intermediary settlement reasons.
Will keep you informed, any thoughts or advice welcome.
We perhaps should advise BC outreach committee and Excom in first instance.

I suggest you escalate to the La Cixa bank staff without initiating any other payment. Recall we had the same request on the ICANN transfer which we turned down. I hope nothing is fishing.

My banker called and said there are several corresponding banks in between, and one of them did not transfer the amount onwards and the next bank (who did not receive the amount) asks for refund. My banker does not know where the money is stuck, but they asked if you, Jimson, can send an immediate inquiry to your bank (the one who originated the transfer), to find out and re-initiate the transfer.

Please, see email below. The entity that transferred the funds say, they did not make a re-fund request. So this should not be refunded to any account.
