Actually, when I started to write questions, I followed two tasks:
- to go ahead with the results of previous survey and to involve in it new members;
- to analyze areas of "surpluses" and "deficities" of each ALS (what each particular ALS has to share with others - translated materials, technical or yudicial expertize and so on, and in which sphere each particular ALS needs help - from staff, from Board, from other ALSes)

I absolutely agree, that this survey is too long. How we can solve this prtoblem?

I also prefer have good discussion on second item, and I think that all answers to these surveys have to be open.

Some time make a survey is with only proposit to legalize a determinate situation. Im particularly against surveys I prefer a good open discution and for a enough time to reach a litle consensus. Survey is a tool not transparent for all and the results depend on who read the answers and what be his/her intetpretatíon. Many times the reponse is only one cross over very important issues wich need to be discussed. My two cents from my vacations,  on Morocco.

I understand what Tijani and Darlene have said, but when the survey was done in 2010, only 72 out of 122 ALSes responded. So there is a large gap of ALSes that haven't filled out the first set of questions in 2010.

So a possible approach could be that those ALSes that never responded to the first survey, ask them the questions 1,4,5,6 in a separate survey and then a survey for all ALSes on the capacity building related issues.

 Hi Oksana,

 Thank you for your proposal.

 I think that at least parts 1,4,5 and 6 were in the survey performed a few years ago (I think in 2011); Dev can tell you. So, I believe we can have these information from there.

 The shortest and the simplest is the survey, the best it is conducted. It's better to have less questions to encourage the ALSes to answer them.

 Have a nice day
