Maureen,
I fully agree with you, and it will be better to make them specific; my only problem is that I have to ask the trainers to establish those sheets, and at this late moments, I really hesitate to ask them.
But we may ask about how the trainees feel: understand well the content? If not, what are the parts that they don’t understand? This may give us almost the same result without asking the trainers for more efforts (they are volunteers as well).
The other WG members: please comment

Hi Tijani
ALSes should make an effort to attend so we could certainly change the final sentence to “You are expected to attend these sessions. The evaluation will provide us with valuable feedback.”
As for a generic evaluation – what would that assess? Each session is different so that the learning outcomes are also different. Perhaps the presenters could establish 3-4 learning outcomes to check whether these have been achieved after their session. This would give a true indication of whether the CB programme was in fact effective and useful. Perhaps it’s my teaching background coming out. J

Thank you very much Maureen.
My comments:
· It’s perhaps better to avoid saying that the evaluation sheet will record “your attendance” since people will see it as a watch dog to track them and generally, they react negatively to such things.
· The evaluation sheet you are proposing is specific to each topic. I was thinking of a generic one.
All the other things are ok with me.
All members of the WG: please give your opinion before we finalize the sheet.

Hi Tijani,
If we want people to come to these sessions regularly, they must first learn something from them and there should not be any onerous evaluation after them.
Based on the information that Dev has sent to us about the COMMUNICATION session, the evaluation draft I have prepared should firstly just tell us if we achieved OUR objectives or not, and how else we might be able to assist ALSes to better understand the topic that has been introduced for later sessions. As the initial evaluation, we also need to know that the technology is working for them too, otherwise they won’t be able to attend anyway. My recommendation is to send a brief link to a monkey survey with the invitation, that participants can return after the session, consisting of the following.
(To be included into the invitation?)
ALSes are an important part of the At Large consultation process. Your participation in policy development sessions contributes to decision-making within At Large and ICANN overall. This session is part of a programme of topics which aims to provide some background before the ATLAS II meeting in London. You are expected to attend these sessions and the evaluation form will record your attendance as well as provide us with valuable feedback.
