Dear All,
To kick-start our discussion and pick a topic for our first webinar I am proposing to start with one of the following topics based on the CPWG discussions and the topics that the ALAC will need to comment on soon.
1.DNS Abuse & Cybersecurity, the ALAC has considered this a high priority topic due to its direct impact on the users of the Internet and their trust in it, we shall have during the Cancun meeting a session in this regard. Also the ALAC submitted an advice to the ICANN Board on DNS abuse in December of 2019.
2.DNS over HTTPS (DoH) and DNS over TLS (DoT), The CPWG has discussed both before and determined that this is a topic that certainly affects the users.
3.The Standardized System for Access and Disclosure of the gTLD registration data. This is also a high priority topic. The initial final report is out for public comment, tomorrow there is a webinar in this regard and the ALAC will need to comment on the report within the next 30+ days.
4.The New round of the gTLDs and the work of the subsequent procedures group. Justine has been presenting the work of the group each week on the CPWG and eventually the ALAC would need to reach consensus on the topics handled.
Looking forward to your feedback
