Hello everyone,

 

The subgroup that is tasked to develop a visualization of ICANN's policies and operations and their interplay with human rights had a call today. This is a quick update.

 

Present in the call: Rafik, Avri, Alan, Tapani, Gangesh, Marília

 

- Alan presented a draft table that maps and links ICANN’s policies to the rights they respectively touch upon. Marília and Avri will review categories and complete the table. 

 

- Alan presented the image and concept of the “wheel of rights”, an alterative visualization that displays human rights in concentric circles – those that are more related to ICANN’s remit and the center – and color-matches them with the specific policies. The group agreed to proceed with the production of this image.

- Marília presented progress in mapping opportunities for assessing HR impact on the policy development process (PDP) of the GNSO. 

 

- Another call to touch base about the progress will take place next week

 

- The outcomes will be shared here when they are finalized, about a week before ICANN Dublin.
