Dear Niels and Rafik,

Thank you very much for facilitating the organization of the sessions. I just have few minor suggestions to the text of session 1, made of top of Stephanie´s edits, mostly to avoid the repetition of words.

Great job

Best wishes to all,
Marília

Session 1 - ICANN's Corporate and Social Responsibility to Respect

Human Rights

There is a growing recognition among some members  of the ICANN community that

some of ICANN’s policies and other actions have implications for human

rights,  including freedom of expression and the right to privacy. ICANN's

articles of incorporation state that ICANN will operate in

conformity with international law, which includes human rights law.

This session will focus on how ICANN's policies and procedures can be

better harmonized with internationally recognized human rights and

corporate social responsibility standards.

This session will present It will also be an opportunity to share updates on the work done in the framework of the cross

community working party on ICANN's Corporate and Social Responsibility

to Respect Human Rights. The discussion builds on the sessions held in London, Los

Angeles, and Singapore as well as the previous reports that were produced on

this topic.

Looks great to me. Wondering how to make the title of session 1 more “attractive” and pointing to new developments, given that in its present form it is very similar to the ones used in previous meetings.
Something like ‘Update’? I know ‘Moving forward” has been used already.
Minor issue, anyway.

Thanks Niels. This looks fine. I would suggest making reference to the GAC working group as a sign of synergy and complementarity.
Speak soon. Regards to all.

Dear all,

Rafik and I have requested two meetings for ICANN53 in Buenos Aires:

one general session to raise awareness around this issue and present

our work, and one working session.

We have been a bit late in submitting session descriptions, so it

would be greatly appreciated if you could comment on these

descriptions as soon as possible.

Session 2 - Working session of Cross Community Working Party on ICANN's

Corporate and Social Responsibility to Respect Human Rights

This cross community working party (CCWP) seeks to map and understand

the issues and potential solutions related to corporate and social

responsibilities of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and

Numbers (ICANN).  This is related, but not limited to policies,

procedures and operations, with a  particular focus on ICANN's

responsibility to respect human rights.

The goal of this session will be to facilitate dialogue between members of the

community that have an interest in this topic. We will discuss in

depth the research that has been done, the future work

of the CCWP, as well as the new charter and report.

Thanks in advance,

Niels
