Hi everyone! I wanted to inform you all that I left the Centre for Internet and Society a month ago to pursue a research position in another think tank in Bangalore. And as such, I have no scope within my work to continue working on ICANN. Of course, I am personally to contribute in the figure however it cannot be so in the role of a Chair anymore. Thank you to all of you I've met over these years and who've made our work in this group much stronger! Feel free to email me at akritibopanna@outlook.com in the future :) Now would also be a good time in case someone wants to step up and join Austin to lead the group! Best, Akriti
Hi Akriti and everyone, First of all, thank you for your service, Akriti, and I wish you all the best in your new chapter. It was a pleasure working with you. I really hope someone will step forward to help me out as a co-chair for 2020. I will unfortunately not be at ICANN67, so maybe members of this group can spread the word in person that we are looking for a co-chair if we don’t have one by then. Secondly, I think it’s a little late to squeeze in a call before ICANN 67 Cancun, but perhaps we could schedule a planning call for after ICANN 67. Here’s my proposal: * Host a CCWP-HR call sometime Monday March 23 – Friday March 27. I will send out a doodle poll soon (ideally after we have a co-chair). * Proposed agenda: * Someone from WS2 implementation team could update us (Niels?) * Article19 update on their HRIAs of Internet registries * Brainstorm our next action (paper/panel?) for 2020 * AOB Of course, I welcome any feedback on next steps or the agenda for the next call, etc. Austin From: cc-humanrights <cc-humanrights-bounces@icann.org> on behalf of Akriti <akriti@cis-india.org> Date: Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at 12:35 AM To: CCWP-HR mailing list <cc-humanrights@icann.org> Subject: [cc-humanrights] Stepping down as chair Hi everyone! Dear Austin, Unfortunately, the has been no activity whatsoever in the implementation team. So there is painfully little to report. I also asked on the implementation team list what next steps are, and I did not get any response. Perhaps we could ask NCUC/NCSG leadership to hear more about what the planning of the ICANN board vis a vis the bylaw changes, etc. Happy to join the call of course.
