short overview issues discussed on the call
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA256 Dear all, Please find here my short notes from the call we had last Friday, if something is missing, please feel free to add: - - Monika, Gabrielle and Niels with the useful comments from the list prepared a draft report for the next ICANN meeting with clear recommendations. This report is a follow up to the CoE and previous Article19 report. - - It was decided that the report will not be an official product of the CCWP just yet, it will be an issue report prepared by Article19 for the CCWP, which the CCWP subsequently can adopt and discuss in BA. - - The deadline for comments and input on the report (which would be very much valued is Tuesday June 2 COB. - - The UDRP part of the current report will be left out in its current form and probably used as separate issue report later on to ensure that issues are not conflated. UDRP will however be mentioned as an example. - - Niels will propose an agenda for the public session in BA - - The working session in BA will be used to evaluate the public session and set the scope of the upcoming work. - - The Council of Europe report is going forward, Lee will forward it when it can be made public. It's expected before the meeting in BA. - - The GAC Human Rights working group is almost done with its charter, Lee will inform us when it's ready. - - Niels will contact Bill Drake about a possible contribution of the CCWP to the civil society pre-event at the ICANN BA meeting. Maryam will also provide us with the recordings and the transcript soon. Hi Sorry I’ve not been able to weigh in on this one lately, too much else happening.

For anyone who’s not aware, there will be a NCUC outreach meeting geared toward LAC civil society Saturday 20 June, 16:00 -18:00, in the Aguila Room of Sheraton Buenos Aires Hotel & Convention Center. This will be basically like the ones we did at the London meeting and alongside the D.C. noncontracted parties house intersessional. There’s a little program team working on it, and anyone who has an interest is welcome to participate in the design or the event itself. It will be followed by a reception for all civil society @ ICANN + fellow travelers from 18:00-19:30. Cheers, Bill
HI all Thanks Niels for the summary. Just wondering about the second point re. authorship of the report as it is circulated. It has been the outcome of a working party from the CCWP under the auspices of Article 19; strikes me that conveying it this way sets the tone for the consultative spirit it has developed in so far. The final draft needs to be circulated to the wider CCWP for comment as the next stage? It is a finer point but I understood that this report has come this far based on a working party principle with leadership provided by Article 19 and Monika as the principle drafter... unless I am mistaken. For eventual acceptance at the grassroots, within ICANN at least, this strikes me as accurate. But maybe I misunderstood this part of the meeting as have only just joined these discussions. best MF On 01/06/2015 13:33, Niels ten Oever wrote:

Thanks for this. That sounds great with me, although it's not exactly what we agreed in the call. Could other people chip in on this?

Monika is the principle drafter, and for that she is contracted by Article19. There has also been sizable input from Gabrielle and me.
But maybe I misunderstood this part of the meeting as have only just joined these discussions.
Hope this clear things up. Best, Niels
