Re: [cc-humanrights] cc-humanrights Digest, Vol 40, Issue 6
Hi, I think the board will be unlikely to schedule the issue for discussion until after all of the chartering organizations of the CCWG approve the recommendations (though - would be happy for someone to prove me wrong :)). Dear Micheal,
Thanks for the update. Maybe a concrete timeline for the approval by the Board has become clearer? Best wishes,
Monika

Hi all!
We actually just got an update on this from Bernie at today's CCWP meeting, so I thought I would offer a small clarification.
The WS2 recommendations have been approved by the GNSO and, as of today, by the ALAC. We were told that the ccNSO will hopefully approve before the end of ICANN63... but the GAC has not yet approved, and we are unsure when that might be forthcoming. As of the moment the recommendations are not on the Board's agenda for Barcelona, since that will only happen once there has been approval from all SOs and ACs.
So - no firm timeline for approval yet, but hopefully we will get more information and a clearer timeframe soon.
Best,
Michael Karanicolas

Is the FOI on the Board's agenda for considering the approval in Barcelona meeting?
Yes
In other words, is it quite certain that the Board will approve the FOI during the Barcelona meeting?
Yes, it seems like it.
Best,
Niels
Best wishes,
Monika

Hi Monika, all,
Yes, the FoI is part of the package of CCWG-Acc WS2 recommendations (final report here < https://community.icann.org/display/WEIA/Documents?preview=/59641302/8857424... ). Bernie Turcotte, ICANN Staff Support to the CCWG-Acc WS2, will be joining our CCWP-HR session in Barcelona to give us a status update.
It?s worth noting that concrete plans for the implementation phase of WS2 haven?t materialized yet. There have been discussions about an Implementation Team, but I?m assuming nothing will take shape until after board approval. Perhaps that's something we can ask Bernie about.
Regardless, we?ll be discussing progress made toward developing mechanisms for operationalizing the FOI in Barcelona, and taking a look at some of the other WS2 subgroup's recommendations as well. Find the meeting agenda here < https://community.icann.org/display/gnsocouncilmeetings/NCSG+CCWP+on+Human+R...
.
Best, Collin

With this the bylaw should be effectuated.
Cheers,
