Dear all,

Following summary is forwarded on behalf of the SECIR Chair Cristian Hesselman

Summary SECIR Conference Call #9
The ccNSO working group “Secure Email Communication for cccTLD Incident Response” (SECIR) held its ninth conference call on Thu Jan 8. We discussed the update of the SECIR subscription procedure, which consists of a few simple steps to authenticate security and stability contacts of ccTLDs and subscribe them to the TLD-OPS mailing list. TLD-OPS is an existing but dormant mailing list at DNS-OARC that we previously decided to use to implement version 1 of the SECIR Contact Repository. The underlying rationale is that this approach enables us to quickly set up a running system at zero costs, thus allowing the community to experience its added value. We agreed on the updated subscription procedure, which we included in the draft of the WG’s report. The second topic we discussed was the focus of the WG. We decided to concentrate on delivering the TLD-OPS-based version of the SECIR Contact Repository (i.e., version 1) and for now put an OPS-Trust-based Contact Repository (version 2) on the SECIR roadmap. Our third and final topic was the WG planning until the Singapore meeting. We decided to invite a few ccTLDs to join the TLD-OPS list in the weeks ahead (one ccTLD per region) and evaluate and fine-tune the subscription procedure with them. We also asked the ccNSO Secretariat for a time slot at the ccNSO Members Day in Singapore to update the community on our progress. Our next call will take place in the last week of January to prepare for the Singapore meeting.
