NEW: ICANN75 Schedule Now Available

ICANN has published the schedule for the ICANN75 Annual General Meeting to be held from 17 to 22 September 2022 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The meeting will feature more than 170 sessions and take place during regular working hours in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia Time/UTC+8).

REMINDER: ICANN75 Prep Week Schedule Now Available 

The ICANN75 Prep Week schedule is now available. It consists of eight sessions to prepare the ICANN community for the ICANN75 Annual General Meeting taking place 17-22 September 2022.

REMINDER: ICANN Continues the Pandemic Internet Access Reimbursement Program

ICANN announced the continuation of the Pandemic Internet Access Reimbursement Program for ICANN75. The hybrid ICANN75 Annual General Meeting is being held 17–22 September 2022. The deadline for reimbursement program applications is 2 September 2022.

Interested ICANN community members must apply in advance of ICANN75, and those who meet the eligibility requirements will be selected to participate. The application process opens Monday, 08 August 2022. The application deadline is Friday, 02 September 2022 at 23:59 UTC.

The goal of this program is to facilitate participation in ICANN Public Meetings during the pandemic. It offers community members who have limited Internet capacity financial assistance to increase their Internet bandwidth.

Since ICANN75 will be conducted as a hybrid meeting, only applicants that attend virtually are eligible for this program.

REMINDER: Registration for ICANN75 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia is Now Open

ICANN announced that the dedicated website for the ICANN75 Annual General Meeting in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia is live and registration for the meeting is open.

All participants must be pre-registered by 14 September 2022 to attend the meeting in person.

REMINDER: Implementation Operations Team Offers Interactive Update on the "Enhancing ICANN’s Multistakeholder Model" Project

In 2019, the ICANN Board initiated a project aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of ICANN's multistakeholder model – one of the strategic objectives outlined in ICANN's Strategic Plan for Fiscal Years (FY) 2021-2025. This effort is critical to ensuring that the multistakeholder model evolves and meets the changing needs of the ICANN community.

The Implementation Operations team is offering an up to 30 minute interactive update on this project, more specifically on the evaluation methodology, which is used to assess the current projects/initiatives that are supporting the multistakeholder model.

LAST CALL: NextGen@ICANN Mentor Program Nominations 

The NextGen@ICANN Program seeks nominations for the 2023 Mentor Program. This appointment will serve for the ICANN76-78 meetings. Nominations must be submitted no later than Wednesday 31 August 2022. The community-nominated mentor will be responsible for overseeing the mentor process. Communities may choose to appoint program alumni and are encouraged to appoint active community members who have an interest in mentoring students. Guidelines for the program can be found here. I

REMINDER: Share Your Feedback on the Registration Data Policy Implementation Plan

ICANN Org opened a Public Comment proceeding on a proposed Registration Data Policy Implementation Plan. This plan is the result of three years of work and collaboration including ICANN Org's Policy Implementation Project Team (IPT) and the Community's Implementation Review Team (IRT). The implementation plan includes a draft policy and proposed updates to 20 existing consensus policies and procedures impacted by the Community's recommendations concerning generic top-level domain (gTLD) registration data. The opening of this Public Comment is a tremendous achievement and a true testament to the multistakeholder model at work.

REMINDER: ICANN Request for Proposal (RFP): PTI SOC2 & SOC3 Audits 

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) organization is soliciting proposals to identify a provider to conduct service organization control audits. These audits represent an important component of the accountability ICANN has to Internet stakeholders for the proper performance of the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority ("IANA") functions. The audits are mandated by the various contracts between ICANN and the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF), the Regional Internet Registries (RIR) and Public Technical Identifiers (PTI).

Indications of interest should be emailed to PTI.SOC2.SOC3.Audits-RFP@icann.org. Proposals should be electronically submitted using ICANN's sourcing tool by 23:59 UTC on 20 September 2022. Access to this tool may be requested via the same email.

REMINDER: NextGen@ICANN Program Selection Committee Nominations

The NextGen@ICANN Program is seeking nominations to fill 3-5 slots for selection committee members. Each SO/AC is asked to nominate candidates for these positions. Individual self-nominations will not be considered. Interested community groups should select their respective NextGen@ICANN volunteers by Friday, 16 September 2022. Interested community groups should select their respective volunteers and notify Deborah Escalera, deborah.escalera@icann.org. Each selection committee member will serve for a period of 2 years beginning with ICANN76. For program details please visit our page. 

REMINDER: Calling for NextGen@ICANN Applications for ICANN76

ICANN is calling for applications for the NextGen@ICANN program.

ICANN wants to hear from university students living and studying in the Latin America and Caribbean region who are interested in the future of the Internet and in participating in the ICANN76 Community Forum Meeting. ICANN76 is scheduled to be held in Cancún, Mexico from 11–16 March 2023. If ICANN76 is held virtually, the NextGen@ICANN program will also be held virtually. The NextGen application window will remain open until 24 October 2022. Successful candidates will be announced on 29 November 2022.
