First of all Happy New Year. I hope you are yours are well.
I wanted to inform you on behalf of the GNSO Council that we have prepared and are about to send our response to the ICANN Board with regards to the IDN Implementation Guidelines v4.0.
We had initially asked for their implementation to be delayed while we were chartering the EPDP on Internationalized Domain Names, now that this endeavour is underway we are able to invite the Board to allow their implementation for all
but guidelines 6a, 11, 12, 13, and 18, which the GNSO Council has identified as overlapping with topics included in the IDN EPDP charter.
I trust you are able to receive this information and relay it to the ccNSO Council on our behalf, apologizing for the very limited warning: we will be sending our answer in the next hour, ahead of our Council call.
