Subject: REQUEST: ccNSO Delegate to the ICANN 2020 Nominating Committee - Due by Friday, 28 June 2019

Dear Katrina,

This email is a request for the ccNSO to select a delegate to join the 2020 Nominating Committee. 

Pablo Rodriguez served on the 2018 and 2019 NomComs and is not eligible to serve another term as the ccNSO delegate.

Specific criteria and requirements regarding the NomCom composition and NomCom delegates are outlined in the ICANN Bylaws in Article 8, Sections 8.2 and 8.4 (https://www.icann.org/resources/pages/governance/bylaws-en/#article8). Additionally, please note the following as you select and appoint your delegate to the 2020 NomCom:

• Please take diversity into consideration when selecting your delegate. The ICANN community is diverse and the composition of NomCom should reflect this in order to fulfill its mission.   
• NomCom delegates should have a high-level network of contacts essential to candidate recruitment
• Eligibility Exception - No person who is an employee of or paid consultant to ICANN (including the Ombudsman) shall simultaneously serve in any of the Nominating Committee positions as described in Article 8, Section 8.2 of ICANN’s Bylaws (https://www.icann.org/resources/pages/governance/bylaws-en/#article8).
• The person should be able to join monthly teleconferences (typically 15:00 or 16:00 UTC).  Note that the committee's workload will increase significantly during Apr/May/June 2020 when the candidate assessment process will be at its busiest. Conference calls are held more frequently (typically weekly and the duration of the calls may last up to 3 hours) during this time as well.
• The person should be willing to work in a large, consensus-oriented committee.
• All 2020 NomCom members should be able to attend the following ICANN meetings (travel and hotel accommodations will be provided for all meetings):
• ICANN66 | Montréal, Canada: 2-7 November 2019 (1^st official meeting of 2020 NomCom)
• ICANN67 | Cancún, Mexico: 7-12 March 2020 (outreach and training meeting)
• Intersessional | (Location tentative - Los Angeles, United States): TBD April 2020 (assessment meeting)
• ICANN68 | Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia: 22-25 June 2020 (selection meeting)

The NomCom has a procedure document for reference that provide additional information about the work of the NomCom. The 2020 NomCom will be selecting 2-ICANN Board, 2-ALAC, 1-GNSO, and 1-ccNSO.

We would appreciate that you acknowledge receipt of this message, and please send the name of the ccNSO delegate no later than Friday, 28 June 2019 to NomCom Operations Staff at nomcom-ops-team@icann.org.
