Dear Councillors,
I am referring to the message by Nigel Roberts, where he mentioned that he withdraws his name for consideration for the Board Seat 12 term that is scheduled to start in October 2021. Please find Nigel’s message attached.
This is to confirm that an election will continue to be held - starting on
4 November 2020 (00:01 UTC), according to the timeline previously agreed upon by the ccNSO Council.
The ballot will include 2 options:
- the name of the candidate (one)
- none of the above
When selecting "None of the above", a ccTLD Manager believes that the candidate listed is not qualified to serve on the ICANN Board of Directors.
A formal election notice will be posted on the ccNSO website and circulated on the ccNSO members mailing list, closer to the start of the elections.
Background
The ccNSO Council and ccNSO members have agreed that the ccNSO members shall propose and elect candidates for the two ICANN Board seats allocated to the ccNSO, and that the winner of said election - i.e. the candidate
that receives the majority of the votes cast - shall in turn be nominated to the ICANN Board seat by a majority vote of the ccNSO Council.
Best regards,
The Nomination Process Manager

Dear Councillors
Please see the attached letter, and accept my apologies for my absence
today (which is due to one of the competing priorities referred to
within it).
Thanks and hope to see you when COVID permits.
Kind regards
