During last week’s Council meeting, the documents below were introduced. Please review the documents, and add possible comments or suggestions to the Google Docs. Deadline for comments is the end of this week, Friday, 29 January 2021 (23:59 UTC).

• Procedures for the nomination of WG/Committee (Vice-)Chair(s).

The procedures will be annexed to the existing Guidelines of establishing WG and collaboration (read: committee) groups. The procedures proposed look at the nomination by the WG members and - if more candidates - the selection of candidates by the members. Creating such a procedure was a recommendation of the Independent Reviewers, and the IDN ccPDP4 Chair and vice-chair nomination showcased the need for such a procedure.

• Guideline, which consolidates selection and appointment of various liaisons and members to groups. 

This Guideline, after being adopted will replace a whole set of documents, and provides the general selection mechanism, if a new group with limited membership would emerge.

Next steps

After updating the proposals – if needed- following the review by the ccNSO Council, the ccNSO membership will be asked to provide comments. Goal is to adopt the two documents at the February Council meeting.
