As I have a conflicting call, I will not be able to join the Council call upcoming Thursday. Please let me share a written monthly update on behalf of the Board Caucus ccPDP3-RM. As always, Bart will be able to provide additional details if necessary.

As I reported before, during the public comments period the GAC submitted their comments on the ccNSO policy regarding review mechanism. However, as GAC input in response to public comment period is not considered GAC Consensus Advice, it was critical for the Caucus to understand if there would be any additional formal GAC Consensus Advice.  As you may already know, on 8 December, the Board received a letter from the chair of the GAC in which he stated that subsequent to the filing of comments, GAC members have not identified any additional issues of policy regarding recommendations developed by the ccNSO. 

Further, Caucus support staff prepared and shared with the Caucus members a Framework for feasibility assessment which was discussed and approved. According to the approved framework, ICANN Legal started an in-depth analysis of sections 2-6 of the Board report. Initial review surfaced a number of questions, which will be first discussed with subject matter experts to seek clarification. If at one point additional input is needed from the ccNSO, we will inform you promptly.

As we are approaching a six months milestone, next report will be an official Board Caucus community update which will be circulated by 31 January 2024.
