ICANN87 Travel Support Applications Open
2 June 2026
The ccNSO is now accepting applications for travel support for the ICANN87 Annual General Meeting. As per the
relevant Resolution, the meeting will be held in October 2026 in Bali, Indonesia.
SUPPORT GOAL. The goal of the ccNSO Travel Support is to
provide travel funding to ICANN Public Meetings, paid for by ICANN, to a limited number of ccNSO community members. Travel support is intended for community members who are expected to make significant contributions during the meeting for which they seek funding,
or whom the Travel Support Committee wishes to encourage to participate more broadly.
APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS. Eligible ccNSO supported travelers
are individuals associated with a ccTLD, ccNSO Councilors and members from the broader ccTLD community, including, in no order:
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS. Review
all materials and fill in the form located here:
https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/3JB6QPJ
All applications should be submitted in English.
Applications for ccNSO travel support are open from until Monday, 15 June 2026 (noon UTC). Please note that applications submitted before or after this period will not be considered.
To support your participation in the ccNSO as a representative of your ccTLD, you must have an ICANN Account, which is the platform used by both the ccNSO and ICANN to manage
participation. If you already have an ICANN Account (for example, to register for ICANN meetings), please log in using the email address you use for your ccNSO work and ensure that your profile
information is up to date. If you do not yet have an ICANN Account, please create one at your earliest convenience.
Important | When completing the application form, please enter the same email address you use to register for ICANN meetings. This email address must match the one associated with your ICANN Account.
NEXT STEPS. Once the application window is closed, the ccNSO
Council Travel Fund Committee will evaluate all applications. The outcome of the committee's deliberations will be published on the ccNSO website. All applicants will receive a personal notification latest by end June 2026.
ICANN TRAVEL SUPPORT. The ccNSO receives a total of 17 travel
slots to allocate per ICANN meeting, paid for by ICANN, 8 of which are reserved for ccNSO Council members.
A travel slot comprises one or more of three main categories of travel expenses: an economy class ticket to the travel destination; accommodation for the approved duration of the trip; and meals and other incidental expenses. Allocations in the three categories
may be split among supported travelers, provided that the total allocation for all three categories amounts to one complete funded travel slot.
ICANN might require funded Travelers to sign an acknowledgement and waiver, built in the meeting registration for anyone that is registering for in-person participation.
Instructions on how to book travel will be provided by ICANN Travel Support to funded travelers who are confirmed and eligible.
For more details, consult the ccNSO Travel Fund Guideline and
the ICANN Community Travel Support Guidelines.
TRAVEL ARRIVAL MEASURES. All travelers have a responsibility to understand the entry and exit requirements of their travel and determine if they can meet those requirements before committing to the travel. Travelers may review specific travel requirements
by visiting https://apply.joinsherpa.com/map or
their local government international traveler websites. ICANN is committed to ensuring inclusive Public Meetings that provide an equal opportunity for all to engage. If funded travelers are not eligible or cannot meet the entry requirements as outlined by
the government of the meeting location, ICANN aims to offer an engaging virtual participation experience.
