Subject: ccNSO review - finally started ! / tentative timeline
Hi Chris,
Finally, with the approval of the RfP by
the Board, we have been able to start the machine.
As you might have noticed already, the
Request for Proposal for the selection of the external reviewer has just been
published (it’s at http://www.icann.org/en/reviews/ccnso/),
and has been advertised on several professional associations websites
worldwide.
Tentative schedule is
•
25 September 2009, deadline for submitting the offers
•
End September/beginning October 2009: proposal assessment panel will evaluate
proposals received from applicants
•
October 2009: SIC approves the selection of the external consultant
•
November 2009: contracting of an external consultant
•
December 2009: initial briefing and beginning of operations (you will be
requested to participate to a distant briefing with the reviewers)
•
7 to 12 March 2010: ICANN meeting in Nairobi – Contractor to conduct
face-to-face interviews with community Members / key informed stakeholders
•
Early May 2010: delivery of draft final report
•
Second half May 2010: finalization of report
•
20 to 25 June 2010: ICANN meeting in Europe – presentation of report and
publication for public comment. ccNSO will be invited to react to the report
and inform the WG about its conclusions on the measures proposed
•
Late July 2010: end of public comment period, WG will start the preparation of
its report to the SIC and the Board
I am planning to publish on the ccNSO
review page the above tentative schedule and an abstract of the Terms of
Reference to inform the ccNSO Members of the objectives and timeline of the
exercise.
Plus, if you consider it useful, we could
imagine another short session in Seoul between ccNSO Members and the members of
the ccNSO review WG who will be present at the meeting to just give an overview
of the process.
Anything else at this point in time to
ensure transparency of the process?
Many thanks for any input on this, and best
regards
Marco
