Happy New Year!

I intend to step down as Chair of the Council at the Council meeting in San Francisco. I will step down from the Council itself shortly thereafter.

Obviously, that means that a new Chair will need to be appointed in San Francisco.

In my view, it will be best if succession can be sorted out prior to the actual meeting. If nothing else, an early decision will mean that transition can take place properly prior to San Francisco.

Lesley has indicated to me that she is willing to put herself forward as Chair and she is currently in the process of preparing a ‘candidate statement’.

Would any other Councillor who is interested in nominating for the role of Chair please let me know ASAP and also prepare a ‘candidate statement’.

If we have more than 1 person willing to take on the role, we will launch a formal nomination and election process by resolution on our council call scheduled for 25 January.
